Our friend Yoshi Zen recently died of stomach cancer. He spent his last week in Kings College Hospital, London until 21 April 2022. The bereavement unit struggled to identify next of kin so turned to the scraps of info he had with him when admitted. That was a short list and James Stevens was first to answer the phone on 9th June.

On hearing of his death we have worked together to recover many treasures from his Peckham flat and prepare for a funeral which was finally held on 12 September 9.30am at Honor Oak crematorium.

Thirty of us met before breakfast to pay respects and wave him off with a press of one button for some groovy music and the other to lower him out of sight!

On November 23rd 2022 we traveled to Toxteth Day of the Dead to lay a Brick of Mu for Yoshi in the Peoples Pyramid.

The heap of his recovered treasure is still being stacked and sorted at Limehouse Town Hall where we will exhibit collections of his drawings, sculptures, photographs and cameras in 2023. All his digital archive images and those we add are already available in a PhotoPrism collection.

8105 was a number that haunted Yoshi and he kept a dossier about the many experiences he had of its reoccurrence and interference in his life. Whilst we look out for that we will continue to record our discoveries and publish selections of his photographs in this BIOS.

His wordpress blog is such a great source of humor and wisdom that offers much insight into recent decades. As for his early years, we are just now discovering more about his life in his journals and massive collection of photographs from travels all over the world.
