0050 Inspiral

It’s been a year since we rescued Yoshi’s stuff from his Peckham flat. All the cameras, sculptures and digital photos have been sorted into more manageable stacks ready for public viewing at Lime house Town Hall. However, it’s the incredible scale of the analogue archive that has taken so much time to preview and process here. It’s a very spiral experience to contemplate the remaining mass of material as we step into each chapter to report on discoveries. There is still a long way to go!

After a recent reshuffle of boxes stored at Limehouse Town Hall we uncovered yet another set of incredible colour transparency and mono negatives including this unusually well annotated notebook filled with 35mm slide film strips. Each of the 28 pages has a hand written list in Japanese which we used Google Lens to translate and speak. If only the other 999 packs were similarly laid out for us to work through. Alas this is not the case and requires much attention to sort out

If you would like to see more and help with the process please get in touch yoshi@spc.org. We meet each Thursday at noon to unpack and report on discoveries.
