0026 Totally wired

We found dozens of these fine wire sculptures on lines spanning Yoshi’s flat. They are 3D dancers and performers, angels and creatures. Some have articulated joints and can be viewed from all around, yet retain their figurative forms well.

The Ideas for these sculptures are discribed in his blog – https://yoshizen.wordpress.com/?s=led+wire and the life drawing precursors to this research below. Elsewhere he writes about this red, green and blue LED projector to throw multi colour shadows as the mix of subtracted and additive light frequencies also produce purple, cyan, magenta and yellow.

Yoshi also refers to his ‘court case’ of 1993 which left him very broke and without camera equipment as it was sold to fund the legal challenges. As a consequence he instead began drawing figures and made plans for future work. There is a lot of high court legal paperwork in several boxes that we don’t have a plan to filter through, that relate to claims being made by a ‘wife’ he vigorously insisted was an identity fraud.
