0036 Equinox

This envelope features the promotional ‘pack shots’ Yoshi photographed for the Equinox Computer Systems LTD brochure 1980. The electronic equipment of that era, engineered to manage accounts and employment data, set the stage for the global transformation of social power and corporate profit.

Some of it may have been recycled or now sit in a museum but most is now deep in the landfills. None of those issues were on the minds of the gentlemen featured as they pushed forward into these new worlds. In the 40 years since these images sold dreams of automation and cybernetics, those mountains of redundant technology have stacked ever higher.
